Creating Vector Images From Photos: Vector Magic

November 5th, 2007 No comments

I stumbled upon this website by reading a blog. You can upload a photo (I took the example below earlier with Photo Booth on my Mac), then convert it to a vector file. The vector file you can download in EPS or SVG and  you can manipulate in Adobe Illustrator.

Update: Since this post was written, you have to register for the online application and it only allows you to convert two images. You can download the software for either Mac or Windows for $300. The price seems a bit steep, but if you need to convert photos for your work to vector art, it’s worth it.

Google on iPhone

There’s a mobile phone optimized Google now, where you can customize your home page just like iGoogle. So you can quickly see news, weather, your email, etc. And finally, several Google applications are mobile-optimized, too, like Gmail, GoogleDocs, Picasa, etc. It works really well on my iPhone. Now, fianlly I can delete multiple emails at once. GoogleDocs is read-only at this point, and you cannot mark messages as spam in Gmail. But we’re getting there, folks!
